GESA INITIATIVE
Grassroots Entrepreneurship Skills Acquisition (GESA) Initiative is
a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established as a
Sustainable Development Partner in Nigeria and by Extension
Africa. The organization engages with stakeholders and the
Government to provide advisory technical support and
consultations for development communications, project planning
implementation and M&E. We promote and improve access to
quality education at all levels including Non-Formal Education for
special needs and vulnerable Children with major focus on
women and girls creating safe space for women and girls to thrive
effectively in a learning enviroment. We provide skills, human
capital and Strategic Leardership development program for young
people and executives in Nigeria.
WHAT WE DO
We improve access to quality education, health and livelihood for vulnerable groups, persons with disability , less privileged children and young people with major focus on women and girls. We provide Mental health psychosocial support services, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and referrals of survivors and those at risk of GBV to access essential services.
We promote Social Accountability, the rights of Citizens and good governance, through Advocacy, Community and Stakeholder’s Engagement, Policy Research, Dialogue and Human Capital Development. Through the GESA Innovation Learning Hub, we provide digital literacy and skills acquisition. Beneficiaries are able to “effectively find, identify, evaluate, and use information.” Trainings are provided on how to use the internet, computers, and smartphones for communication, enterprise, and content creation within ethical boundaries. Using well defined digital literacy pedagogy, the GESA Innovation Learning Hub is able to create access to 21st century skills empowerment.
Weprovide advisory, consulting and training services onnEnvironmental and Social Impact Management, Professional Teachers Development Program, Safeguards in learning enviroment, Grievance Redress Mechanism and Social Accountability Framework. Gender Based Violence (GBV); Sexual Exploitation Abuse (SEA); Sexual Harassment (SH) for Social Investment Program.
